INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING

Independent Living Skills Training

A ILST works one on one with individuals in their home and community developing goals they choose to become more independent in their daily activities.

Many of our participants struggle with short-term memory challenges.  Our Life Skills Trainers work with them on learning strategies and techniques they can use to help compensate for their memory deficits such as implementing planning and organizational tools in their home.

These Goals May Include:

Budgeting

Maintaining & Organizing Their Household

Planning and Coordinating Medical Appointments

Health Management

Meal Planning and Preparation

Computer Training

Community Integration

Transportation Training

Self-Advocacy
