Employees Give Back to their Community and Gain Big

You’ve volunteered before. You know what a personally rewarding experience it can be to give back to your community. Now multiply that reward by the number of employees where you work. Imagine the affect it would have on our community. Here are just a few benefits of volunteering as a company.

Volunteering boosts company morale.
Successful companies have dedicated employees that enjoy not only their work, but the people on their team. Volunteering as a company builds unity and gives employees an opportunity to engage with each other outside of work. Have your employees vote on a few charities and plan a couple of volunteer days a year.

Volunteering sends a message to the community.
You may have heard about the Pepsi Refresh Project. You may have even voted. This past year Pepsi has allowed organizations to submit project ideas that will help their communities. Then Pepsi donates money to the projects that get the most votes, generated by the public. This cause marketing campaign shows that Pepsi cares about communities. Your company can do something on a smaller scale. Partner with a local nonprofit on a project and promote your good deeds. It’s a win-win-win-win for your company, your employees, the nonprofit and the people that nonprofit serves.

Volunteering is just good business.
Ultimately a business exists to make money, or it doesn’t exist. Seventy-eight percent of consumers claim they are more likely to do business with a company that supports organizations and gives back to their community. That’s reason enough to find a cause to support today.
