It’s sunshine, laughter, and enjoyment at Bridges for Brain Injury’s Farm Fun Day! In this episode of Bridging the Gap, members and staff spend the day outdoors, surrounded by animals, games, and plenty of smiles.

At the Bridges Barnyard, everyone comes together to play farm-themed games, meet the animals, and enjoy some friendly competition. The day kicks off with “Farm Phrases,” where participants try to finish well-known sayings like “Busy as a bee” and “Hold your horses.” The laughter is contagious and the wrong answers make it even better.
Meet the Stars of the Barnyard
The spotlight turns to Stevie, a Sulcata tortoise from the Sahara Desert. Wildlife Rock Star members share fun facts: Stevie can grow up to 200 pounds, live more than 100 years, and loves to graze in the sunshine.
Then there’s Giuseppe, the European legless lizard who looks like a snake but isn’t. His story helps show how evolution adapts animals to thrive and how appearances can be deceiving!
Games, Giggles, and Goats
The trivia fun continues with questions about baby farm animals: foals, calves, chicks, and kits. Even the wrong guesses make everyone laugh as friends cheer each other on.
Meanwhile, out in the field, Kid Rock, an African pygmy goat, is “helping” mow the lawn by snacking on grass. Selena “Goetmez,” another goat with plenty of personality, joins in the fun while participants take turns walking and caring for the animals.
Alpacas and Adventures
Of course, no farm day would be complete without Bridges’ favorite duo: Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood, the resident alpacas. These two quickly became fan favorites, cooling off in their pool and occasionally spitting at each other in good-natured rivalry. Their soft wool will one day be turned into cozy alpaca products.
Building Something Bigger
Behind the scenes, operations manager Kurt leads renovations to transform the Bridges Barn into a space that’s as functional as it is welcoming. From new enclosures to better tools and facilities, the upgrades reflect Bridges’ mission of creating meaningful opportunities for members to learn, build, and thrive.
At Bridges for Brain Injury, every day is about connection — people, animals, and purpose. Farm Fun Day shows that recovery and growth can come with laughter, teamwork, and a little bit of dirt under your boots.
