The Holidays May be Over, But Giving Doesn’t Have to End

During the holiday season many people are more generous with their time and money towards nonprofit organizations. Once the calendar turns to a New Year, many get caught in their regular routines. We all know that nonprofits can use help throughout the year so here are some simple ways for you to make a difference.

Nickel and dime
So many of us throw our change into a jar and wait until it overflows until we do something about it. This year, consider collecting all of your change for charity and see how a little at a time can add up to make a big difference to a nonprofit. Make it a family activity or friendly competition and you can help even more.

Set a goal
We all know that New Year’s resolutions are fleeting, but it’s usually because they’re based on lofty goals rather than doable tasks. Make a resolution to volunteer at least once a month. Now you have a quantifiable and achievable goal. While the nonprofit will benefit, it’s often reported just how much more a volunteer gets out of working with an organization.

Volunteer in your pajamas
Consider virtual volunteering so you can volunteer on your time. You can do research, grant writing, promote legislation or help with social media on your time in the comfort of your home.
