Help Kids Reach Their Full Potential

Margot Rutledge founded Kids Win in 2004 with the goal of helping adults convey to kids their value and help them achieve their goals. True to the mission, her 14 year-old son, Luke came up with the tagline, “Think it. Live it.” May 2-8 is Kids Win Week that encourages adults to help a child win by showing they are capable of achieving. Here are some ways to help a kid this week.

Find Strength
Every child has talents. Strengths can range from a skill or a personality trait. Focus on finding ways to capitalize on those strengths. In the proper environment, your kid will flourish.

Set Goals
The first step to accomplish goals is to set them. Help your children come up with some goals they’d like to attain and then ask them how they plan to accomplish those goals. Help them keep track of their progress and celebrate when they achieve their goals.

TV Timeout
Shut of the television this week. Get the kids outside. Have them read a book or volunteer for a nonprofit. Alternative activities will help your child develop creativity and become a well-rounded person. You don’t want your child to grow up to be a professional coach potato, so help them find what inspires them.

A kid must believe that you believe in them, and you must believe in them so they can reach their full potential. So go out and make a difference in a child’s life this week.
